I just discovered this group, and their music is mostly unavailable.

I *want* this song…

Had to laugh at myself

I took a minute to flip through an alphabetical listing of all the music on my iPod, and was in stitches over the randomness and dichotomy of it all.

This is the listing as I saw it:
Adam Lambert (I bought one of his songs to show solidarity)
Andy Hunter
Ani DiFranco
Armin van Buuren
Bat for Lashes (kind of silly, but I can see why the Twilight crowd likes her so much)
Belly Dance Beats Antique
Celtic Woman
The Chemical Brothers
The Corrs
Deep Factory
Diana Rowan
Dido
Dolores Keane
Enya
Erasure
Fatboy Slim
Fig for a Kiss
Francis Edwards
The Irish Rovers
Jay Brannan
Jesse Cook
Jessica Radcliffe
John Renbourne Group
Juno Reactor
Lady Gaga
Loreena McKennitt
Lugwig van Beethoven
Medieval Baebes
Norland Wind
OceanLab
Orphei Drangar
Paul Dooley
PJ Harvey (one song only, all the rest are kinda weird)
Raffi
Rage Against the Machine
Robin Bullock
Silly Wizard
Slipstream
Sting and Eden Karamazov (the lute album)
Teada
Thomas Loefke and Norland Wind
Young Love (one song only, the rest is twee and boring)

Most of it isn’t writing music, but sometimes you just gotta dance around your house like a freak (:

Tear out your heart

And rip it into tiny little beautiful, delirious pieces…

Jay Brannan sings ‘Every little bit’ by Patty Griffin

That broken piano makes that song. The sound quality is awful. But that also makes it perfect, too.

What inspires me

Music. It’s not just the food of love, it’s also the food of life.

Loreena McKennitt is a local musician who has, through her own gutsiness (did I spell that right? gutsyness? hmm.) and talent, gone worldwide. With no compromises.

Her first album Elemental inspired me when I discovered it in highschool. She had been a professional musician for almost ten years, and luckily there were a few albums out by then, so I could devour a few at a time. I wanted to sing and play the harp, and live in a world described by her music. Basically, I wanted to be her ;p

Glory-oh, Glory-oh, to the bold Fenian Men

My harp friend introduced me to a new band by the name of Omnia NeoCelt… I find their costumes a bit amusing, but they have some perfectly wonderful songs.
